Walk one arrival morning as a scene: the immigration booth, then bags, then SIM and cash. Polite です/ます, not a laminated phrase list.

Put です, ます, てください, たい, numbers, katakana, and が好きです through one Osaka convenience store. No new mountain. A working mouth at a register.

Attach て-form to います: 待っています, 住んでいます, 雨が降っています. One shape, two jobs — action in progress, and a state that has already landed.

Put い-adjectives and な-adjectives in the past: おいしかったです, よかったです, 静かでした. The wrong form is おいしいでした — learn why it never sits.

Lock the frame 〜が好きです. Contrast it with を on verbs. Ask 何が好きですか, answer with a thing, a food, a place — still polite です.

Mark a span with から and まで, and link nouns with の. Shop hours, train rides, and “morning coffee” all sit on these three small words.

Make a polite plan together: 行きましょう, 食べましょう. Invite with ませんか when you want a softer shall-we, not a decision already made.

Say what you want to do: 食べたいです, 行きたいです, 見たいです. たい rides on the ます-stem and then behaves like an い-adjective.

Ask someone to do something politely: 待ってください, 書いてください, 見てください. Learn a small て-form set you can use at a hotel desk.
